Father Leonir Mario Chiarello was re-elected Superior General of the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles (Scalabrinians) during the 16th General Chapter, held in Rocca di Papa, Rome.

On 17th of October 2024, the 48th General Chapter of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ elected Giuseppe Adobati Carrara Superior General, up until now he has been the Provincial Superior of MAPRAES Province.

Nearly 60 years after Viatorians arrived in Haiti to do missionary work, the first Haitian has been installed as Superior General of the worldwide Viatorian Community.
