During an extraordinary General Chapter in Waegwan, South Korea, on Jan. 18, 2025, the Congregation of St. Ottilien elected a new Abbot President: Fr. Javier Aparicio Suárez OSB, a monk of St. Ottilien and until now the Congregation's Missions Procurator. Abbot Javier is 55 years old and from Spain.
