Fr. Hyacinthe Loua is the new Executive Director of Solidarity with South Sudan

Dear Sisters, dear Brothers, dear Fathers and dear friends of Solidarity with South Sudan,
I am delighted to announce that Fr. Hyacinthe Loua, SJ has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Solidarity with South Sudan for a term of three years, beginning in April 2025.
Fr. Loua brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role. A Jesuit priest born in Guinea, he holds advanced degrees, including a PhD in systematic theology and history, a master's degree in Sociology of Development, and certification in mediation and conflict prevention. His professional journey has been marked by leadership roles such as Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in West Africa and Director of the "Centre de Recherche et d'Action pour la Paix" (CERAP), where he also serves as President of CERAP-Jesuit University in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Fr. Loua has extensive experience in humanitarian work and civil society organization, including his involvement with Inades-Formation, an institution focused on rural development and combating malnutrition, and CEFOD in Chad, here he supported farmers and political leaders. Additionally, his pastoral ministry includes service to Sudanese refugees and visits to Christian communities in South Sudan, affirming his deep commitment to supporting marginalized populations.
Known for his dynamic leadership, honesty, and sociability, Fr. Loua is highly skilled in management, organizational strategy, and interreligious dialogue. His dedication to fostering peace and reconciliation in African societies makes him exceptionally well-suited to guide Solidarity with South Sudan into its next chapter.
