Pope Francis: Keep praying for me
March 13 was the seventh anniversary of the
election of Pope Francis as the successor of Peter.
On this occasion, Rev. Arturo Sosa, S.J., president of the USG, sent a message
to the Pope:
"As president of the Union of Superiors General I reiterate the commitment of those in religious life to do everything possible to contribute to the realization of the Church as People of God in which we can be as leaven, through our closeness to the poor, our affectivity centered exclusively on the Crucified and Risen One, and our obedience to the Holy Spirit who is manifest through the signs of the times.
As consecrated persons, we remain united to His Holiness through constant prayer for his ministry and by seeking the greatest and best contribution we can make to the mission of the Church from our own limitations."
The Pope responded, in his own handwriting, by saying: "Thank you very much for your greetings. I was happy to receive the letter. Please continue to pray for me. May Jesus bless you and may the Holy Virgin take care of you. Fraternally yours, Francis."
