The Salvatorians celebrate the 20th General Chapter
The 20th General Chapter of the Society of the Divine Saviour was held from 21 July to 16 August 2024, at the Salvatorian Centre for Spiritual Formation in Krakow, Poland.
A total of 45 capitulars participated, representing the 46 countries, spread over the five continents, in which the Society currently operates.
On the basis of the various reports and looking to the future, under the motto: 'Rooted in the Divine Saviour, Apostles of today', decisions were taken for the next six years, which will serve as a compass for the new management team, which will take office from 8 December 2024.
On Sunday 21st July, feast of Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan, Founder of the Salvatorians, the Chapter opened with the celebration of Mass and the welcome address by Fr. Milton Zonta, Superior General of the Congregation for two terms (2012-2024).
On the first ballot, Fr. Krzysztof Kowalczyk was elected as the new Superior General.
Fr. Krzysztof is 61 years old and originally from Poland. He took his first vows in 1983 and most recently serves as parish priest at Kadina parish in the diocese of Port Pirie, Australia.
