Shayne Craig, PSS, new Superior General of Saint Sulpice
During the General Assembly, postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, held in Issy-les-Moulineaux, the Compagnie des Prêtres de Saint-Sulpice elected Fr. Shayne Craig, PSS, as Superior General.
Father CRAIG is 57 years old, a Canadian national and was ordained in 1992 for the Diocese of Victoria in Canada. He was admitted to the Society in 1999. He succeeds Father Ronald D. WITHERUP, PSS, a United States citizen, who held the position since 2008.
On July 11, 2022, during the seventh session of the General Assembly of the Society of Saint Sulpice, and in accordance with their Constitutions, the members of the said Assembly proceeded to the election of the Consultors General.
